THE CLINIC

SOTHERGA was born from the idea of the founder Dr. Marco Bartolucci to create a new reference point in the world of Italian medicine and cosmetic surgery.
In developing the project, Dr. Marco Bartolucci imagined a place in which patients can benefit from the most advanced technologies available and at the same time live a unique experience. Medical, nursing and administrative staff are trained to offer an excellent level of service within a uniquely curated location. At the SOTHERGA clinic there is a permanent collection of works of art that accompany the patient on the path inside the structure.

The patients of SOTHERGA are placed at the center of a 360 system capable of managing all of their needs.

PHARMACY

2013

LIU BOLIN (1973, CHINA)

LIU BOLIN (SHANDONG, 1973) MAKES OF CAMOUFLAGE THE DISTINCTIVE FEATURE OF HIS RESEARCH: USING THE BODY PAINTING TECHNIQUE, HE BLENDS INTO THE LANDSCAPE AND IN WHICH HE IS FINALLY PHOTOGRAPHED.  THROUGH HIS ART HE EXPLORES MEN'S RELATIONSHIP WITH NATURE, POLITICS AND POWER. IN HIS WORK SHOWCASED IN SOTHERGA, HIS SHAPE IS INSCRIBED, IN INVISIBLE TRACTS, WITHIN A SHELF OF MEDICINAL PRODUCTS THAT WE FIND IN COMMON PHARMACIES. THIS POETRY OF HIDING AMONG THINGS IS IN REALITY A PRECISE WILL TO GIVE VALUE TO EACH PLACE, EVEN THE SMALLEST AND APPARENTLY INSIGNIFICANT.

BURQA CHAMPAGNE

2016

CÉCILE PLAISANCE (1968, FRANCE)

THE ARTIST EXPLORES THE MYTH OF THE "WOMAN-OBJECT" EPITOMIZED IN THE ICONOGRAPHY OF BARBIE, A STEREOTYPE OF THE 90s. IN BURQA CHAMPAGNE BARBIE WEARS A BURKINI, A CULTURAL OBJECT OF SOCIAL DEBATE, AND THROUGH THE USE OF THE LENTICULAR PRINT, PLAISANCE CREATES A SHORT CIRCUIT FOR WHICH THE DOLL REVEALS HERSELF TO BE NUDE UNDER THE BURQA.

UNTITLED

2014

TOM SCHIERLITZ (GERMANIA)
LIMITED EDITION, EDITION OF: 150

CLOTHESPIN

2017

PAOLO AND MICHELA BALDESSARI (RIVA 1920 - IRON BENCH, cm 240L x 45H x 45P)

SCULPTURE DESIGN THAT PLAYS WITH THE TYPICAL POP ART OFF SCALE. THE ENLARGED CLOTHESPIN IS A TRIBUTE TO THE SIMPLE AND ANONYMOUS DESIGN THAT HAS ALWAYS SHARED OUR DOMESTIC DAILY.

THE DOCTOR'S VISIT

1661–1662

PIETER DE HOOCH (1629–1684, HOLLAND)

THE ARTIST'S PAINTING IS CLOSE TO THE STYLE OF JAN VERMEER IN THE USE OF THE SUBJECTS AND THE LIGHTING SOLUTIONS OF REMBRANDT, IT BELONGS TO THE CATEGORY OF GENDER PAINTING, WITH SCENES DRAWN FROM EVERYDAY LIFE AND A PREDICTION FOR HOME INTERIORS. THE PAINTING "THE DOCTOR'S VISIT" IS AN EXAMPLE: THE CHARACTERS PLACED AROUND THE SUFFERING SICK ARE IMMERSED IN A SUBMITTED AND COMPOSED ATMOSPHERE, CHARACTERISTIC OF THE FLEMISH PAINTING

FLORENCE

2007

JULIAN WOLKENSTEIN (1972, AUSTRALIA)

IN WESTERN CULTURE, DOMESTIC ANIMALS ARE OFTEN GIVEN HUMAN FEATURES. WE SEE THEM AS INDIVIDUALS WITH THEIR UNIQUE PERSONALITIES, AS FRIENDS OR FAMILIES. IN HIS "PONY PIN UPS" SERIES, THE AUSTRALIAN PHOTOGRAPHER JULIAN WOLKENSTEIN EXPLORES THIS PHENOMENON IN A PLAYFUL AND SATIRIC WAY. THESE EXTRAORDINARY PORTRAITS ARE BOTH AMAZING AND FUN. THE REALIZATION HAS THE AID OF A STYLIST AND A TEAM OF TECHNICAL STAFF, TO CAPTURE THE EXTRAORDINARY HAIRSTYLES OF THESE ANIMALS. WITH THE SUBJECTS PRESENTED IN CLASSIC PORTRAITS, FRONTALLY OR IN THREE QUARTERS, THE IMAGES REMEMBER THE PAINTINGS OF THE OLD MASTERS. THE SOFT-COLORED BACKGROUND ACCENTUATES THEIR IMPACT. WHAT EMERGES ARE SURREAL AND COMIC COMPOSITIONS WITH A FUNNY SUBJECT THAT CONTRAST WITH TRADITIONAL AND SERIAL SETTINGS.
